OH, WHAT A GRAND AFFAIR…

I have had a lot of magical milestone moments in my life, but I just had a BOULDER of one happen to me this past Saturday, October 14, 2023.

“The Arizona Historical League” inducted me as one of their 2023 “History Makers”, in a beautiful, fun filled, and yet poignant ceremony, at “The Arizona Heritage Center” in Tempe.  What a “Do”!!!  It was a star-studded cast of inductees, cheered on by an enthusiastic audience that looked more like a gathering at an Arizona “Who’s Who” convention.

The induction ceremony included a professionally produced video of the life of each inductee, along with a beautifully fashioned Arizona stone and turquoise trophy.

Then, with a champaign toast and a rousing cheer, the ribbon was cut on a fabulous display depicting the memorabilia of each “History Maker”.  The memorabilia will remain on display at the Arizona Historical Society for at least two years, after which time it will be archived by the AHS.

I can’t even begin to express how deeply I appreciate this honor, as I am finding my way through the twilight years of my long and joyful career as “Arizona’s Official State Balladeer”.   Thank you, Arizona Historical League, Arizona Heritage Center, and Arizona Historical Society, for all that you do to help keep Arizona, Arizona, and thank you for including me in this distinguished event.  I am deeply honored and forever humbled.
