“Man From the Big Country” was my first album of Arizona expression, and it was the album that brought my music to the attention of Governor Sam Goddard, who first appointed me as, “Arizona’s Official Balladeer”.
This album was recorded at the now historically significant, “Audio Recorders of Arizona” in Phoenix, and it was the beginning of my long and uncharted journey of being a writer of Arizona ballads.
It has been because of the affirmation given to me by my state, that I have found the focus and dedication to write a significant portfolio of original songs and ballads about Arizona’s people, places, and historical moments. There’s a strong message here, I think, about the importance of our state and our cities supporting music, art, and Arizona studies in our communities and especially in our schools. Thank you, Arizona.
